Default Is this power supply worth it?

I'm needing a new power supply, so I was lookin' on the 'Egg. This one caught my eye, and was wondering if this was any good. Looks like a decent power supply, but don't want to get burnt by buying it. 4 20A rails, and 530w continuous? Although, the specs say it's 492W at 41A?

Newegg.com - Rosewill Green Series RG530-2 530W Continuous @40C, 80 PLUS Certified,ATX12V v2.3 & EPS12V v2.91, SLI Ready,CrossFire Ready,Active PFC "Compatible with Core i7, i5" Power Supply - Power Supplies

In that price range I would look at this:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX 550W ATX12V V2.2 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply - Power Supplies

You do need to deal with a MIR but after MIR only $10 more.

specs looks good, but I am biased, and don't like rosewill

550VX is good

but, this OCZ is modular
OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ500MXSP 500W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply compatible with core i7

what else are you upgrading along with processor?

A newer processor (Quad core, probably Athlon II 620 or Phenom II 810), and a newer graphics setup (Crossfired 4850's or single 5850). I'd probably get the 550VX, 'cause of the stronger 12V.

I know OP already grabbed a BFG GS-450W

but for future reference.... I actually would recommend the Rosewill Green series for budget builds now

just found out they are made by ATNG

still not as good as Enermax or Seasonic, but not bad
