Default Is this possible?

I have two old computers (not too old, maybe 3-5 yrs). One rusn Windows XP and one runs Windows 2000.

I want to switch the hard drives on these computers because I am giving one of them to someone.

Is it possible to just swap the hard drives. Would each computer run the new operating system or do I have to format hard drives once I switch them?

Thank you.

Send a message via MSN to Ste

and chipset issues, also windows may detect hardware changes and prompt for reactivation of the install.

I think you have to do a repair of the OS to make them work with diff mobo, and gotta uninstall old mobo drivers and install the new mobo drivers.

It should work but you might need to reinstall drives and such.. Cause when I took out my mobo battery and put it back in my microsoft office said I needed to reactivate it. That might happen to you also since it changes complete different system. But there is a chance it can run without any problems.
