The HDD price jack is due to the flooding in Thailand, the bigger supporters of HDDs. But people got scared and ordered them while they were cheap, therefore, a spike in prices.

I think you can get a full fledged computer for $700. It'd be close, though. I'll look around at prices and see what I can do.

So I have been thinking. I will reuse my current 19" hp monitor and buy one later on.
Still debating whether to reuse my old hard drive and wait for prices to come down. Or maybe get one second hand.

will this build work together/ be able to handle skyrim and perhaps some battlefield 3?

also found this. 55 after rebate and promo code. should i get it over the other one?

os - $20 discount code = 79.99 - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - Operating Systems

hard drive - 50 promo code = 49.99

that's about 707 shipped - 65 in rebates = $642

question about promo codes.
three of those items have a promo code. Do i have to buy them separately (3 different orders) to get the discounts since Newegg says it doesn't allow stacking?
