Which one is it! lol

Should I deffinatly go with a 256mb card, or will the 128mb be good enough? Note: Running 512mb on stock Semrpon, then upgrading to 2x 512mb later.

Here, I'll make it easier. Which of these should I get?

1)eVGA 6600GT 128mb

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...110&CatId=1559

2)eVGA 6800XT 256mb

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...911353&CatId=0

3)eVGA 6800 256mb

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...077&CatId=1560

Here's what I don't understand. What's the difference between these two cards, and why am I paying more for one? Is it worth it to pay extra? Also, if all my suggestions suck, and you think I'm an idiot, reccomend a card from this site that's under $200.

Card 1- $145.99 -> http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...2887&CatId=880

Card 2- $162.99 -> http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...110&CatId=1559

Thanks.

one of them is pci-express, and the other one is AGP. since you first asked if they were pci-express, then i assume you'd want the pci-express one(card 2).

under 200: i guess the 6800gs is out of the question.

the 6600gt and 6800xt are pretty much the same, so i'll recommend the 6800xt since its cheaper.

2nd question. Will this cheap power source (550w) be of high enough quality? The eVGA cards needs at least 450w, so I need to upgrade. I don't want to spend a lot of money, so is this sufficient?

Diable 550w -

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...6&Sku=D15-1000

Thanks

that power supply does look cool, but wiht only 20A on the 12V, and you're gonna be using a power-heavy card, i don't know if it'll be enough.

i don't know if this powersupply is very stable, but its definitely powerful enough. its only $8 difference.

as for the other video cards you mentioned, the 6600 256mb is not a very good card. the 6800 vanilla doesn't seem so great either. as i said before, go for the 6800xt, since you can't afford the 6800gs.

2 x 12V rails at 18A each, and it is made with good quality parts too.
