Unhappy Please help me with my bios!

ok so i just put tpgether my comp and i booted it up but it sed it had an error with the NLTDR and people were telling me that it had to do something with windows xp. well i am using my old harddrive from my old comp whcich had windows xp and all my old programs but it wont load up xp bcuz of the error. well this one guy told me thid.

well ok i want to do that but how exactly r u supposed to repair windows xp? because i want to keep my old files and i dont have a copy of windows xp so i want to do this but how do u do it?

boot from the XP CD, and after it loads press enter at the first screen to go to install. press F8 after that. it will then say "searching for previous versions of Microsoft Windows"
after it does, press 'r'
it will go through reinstalling all the main parts of Windows, but it will keep your user names and settings and everything

ok thanx but i thought u could repair it without the xp cd but oh well i'll just have to wait til my uncle comes with it ok thanx though.
