Question PCI Express slot question

if my Expansion slot was PCI Express x16. can i put PCI Express 2.0 Graphic Card in my motherboard??

2.0 is backwards compatible.

He means it will work. Backwards compatible in this situation means that a pci-e 2.0 card will work in a pci-e 1.0 slot.

No, nothing will change in performance because 2.0 has a higher bandwidth than what the card is able to push out (even then, it's not near the bandwidth of previous PCI iterations).
