I'm in the mitts of a big video project I move 50 to 100 gig's of files at a time from drive to drive and I'm doing a lot of transcoding and reencoding. I'm having some file transfer issues, but lemme lay-out the set up for you first.

Ok the 2 LaCieÂ’s are chained via Firewire 800, and itÂ’s connected to the computer with Firewire 400, to my Sound Blaster card.
It seems when I transfer say.... 60 GB's down to my 400 GB LaCie from the TB drive it takes on average an hour, give or take 15 to 20 minutes. But When I try to move a couple gigÂ’s to the 300 GB drive windows says itÂ’s going to take 200 minutes then after a couple minutes the timer disappears and it just kindÂ’a chugs along, Also on my other system the encoding processes seems to take a third less time, itÂ’s a AMD64 3700+ with a gig of ram.
IÂ’m thinkÂ’n about dropÂ’n a gig kit into it; (http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=85018-10 also with MCE on there it getÂ’s pretty dam sluggish during recording. But could the transfer problem have another root?
Thanks
