im on a tight budget and was thinking of upgrading to a new system because my old one died on me. i had two processors in mind. which would be better? a

these are the only parts in my price range. which would be better for light gaming and maybe some word processing and web surfing?

its a intel 478, but the mb died

You should go for AMD socket 939. Get the AMD Athlon 64 3000+...a great processor for $55. Way better then the intel and amd you looked at.

Are you aware that both of those motherboards are Micro ATX?
