Default PC specs

so i'v decided to make my own PC

needed for:

MSN
Internet browsing
Gaming

i was thinking the following parts:
Processpr ~ AMD athlon 3700+ [130]
Motherboard ~ DFI lanparty NF4 [£90]
Graphics card ~ 7900GT [£210]
Case ~ Thermaltake Tsunami Case [£70]
Power Supply ~ Antec Truepower 2.0 550w PSU [£60]
Hard drive ~ 74GB Raptor [£110]
Ram ~ 2GB OCZ DDR400 2-3-2-5 [£150]
Optical Device ~ ??
Operating system ~ ??

total [£820]

i did some research on prices and i wanted max upgrade potential but not to break the bank.

any surgestions for the rest of my parts, or even scrap the parts i already picked xD

iunno if they are compatiable so help apreciated =D

surgestion of any make will help e.g. tell me exactly which brand of ram to get etc.

i can do without a monitor/speaker/mouse/keyboard to cut back on price

trying to lay well under £1000 but i guess windows XP is gonna send me well off =/

i was thinking of just using an older operating system for now any surgestions?

havent decided, not good with that kinda stuff thats why i need help

i was also thinking of getting only 1GB of ram to save money and adding an extra 1024 card later on when money is available xD

Gaming today is making its demands on the Video Card and not so much the CPU. Consider getting a good video card. Many people like the 3700+ San Diego A 64.

The San Diego core is the second best core that AMD has.Its has very high OC capability and runs on lower temps with least power consumption. There pretty much the same as the venice cores.
