Would it be ok to take the memory out of my old PC and put it in my new build for the time being?
The memory that I ordered for my new build is faulty and needs sending back which may take a while, so I was wondering if I'd be able to use my old memory if it works?
I have the following motherboard
ASUS P5N73-AM GeForce 7050 Socket 775 onboard Graphics 8 channel audio mATX Motherboard - Ebuyer
and the following memory
Ocz 4gb DDR2 PC2-6400 Gold XTC (2 x 2gb) : OCZ2G8004GK |Specialtech.co.uk -
The memory in my old PC says the following on each stick
M-Ram
DDR2-128X64-800MR
1GB DDR2-800Mhz-CL5
It will only be temporary as when my new memory is replaced for a working it, I'll put that in. Just thinking of ways how I can get my new machine up and running quicker.
Is there anything else I need to check to make sure it will work?
It will also let me know if it's definately my memory that's causing my PC problems!
