Hi there guys.

I have an old computer at home that i'm not using, so I wanted to play some of my older games on it.

One game I would love to have a shot at is colin mcrae rally 2.0, the early ancestor to dirt 3.

I need a bit of help choosing parts: eg gpu, cpu, and motherboard.

The recommended requirements for the game are:

Pentium III 500 cpu, 128mb ram, 16bit sound card, and a compatible 3d gpu with 32mb memory.

GPUs:

Nvidia: Riva 128, TNT and TNT 2. Geforce 256, geforce 2.
ATI: Rage pro, rage 128, radion.

I think this would be a good project to build, cause it's cheap and fun.
What I need to know is:

Could I run this on windows 7?
Does any body know the best gpu to play this game on?
Any cpu/ mobo recommendations?

And just overall tips.

Thanks,
Ewan.

It's an old computer, so it has an intel celeron d 1.6ghz, 2gb ram, and no gpu.

I've tried it on my main computer, and i think the gpu is incompatible, cause the game doesn't run (it's got windows 7, an nvidia gt 440, 3.25 gb ram, and an intel core 2 duo 2.4ghz)

It is probably because it isn't made to run on Win7, did you try running it in compatibility mode?
(right click shortcut -> Properties -> Run in compatibility mode -> Windows XP)
