Default Newbie help

I am looking to build a desktop computer that is suitable for mass productivity with two monitors. I would like to use an old IBM case and I have about $1k.

What do I start? I watch the **** out of YouTube and am a full-time student. Help??

What kind of things do you refer to when you use it for "mass productivity"?

Do you need to buy the two monitors? If so, what size are you looking for?
Do you need an Operating system?
