also scrap the vid card and hard drive (he says he watches movies on his comp..)

definitely stick with the dual core... it'll future-proof your computer. (future can be a b*tch sometimes)

and are speakers part of that other budget? if so use that $7 to maybe get a different dvd-wr brand since someone didn't like it..
