he probably has a legit copy of windows 'lying around'... so there's no need for it...

also scrap the vid card and hard drive (he says he watches movies on his comp..)

and also..

definitely stick with the dual core... it'll future-proof your computer. (future can be a b*tch sometimes)

and are speakers part of that other budget? if so use that $7 to maybe get a different dvd-wr brand since someone didn't like it..
