Default new Video card

would an XFX Radeon 5850 have conflicts with my MOBO? :Asus M2N-SLI Motherboard - NVIDIA nForce 560 SLI, Socket AM2/AM2+

nope. Only issue you would have is that you could not run 2 of them in xfire. If you have no such plans then no problem.

which geforce card is comperable to the radeon 5850. thinking SLI in the future and also card availability right now

GTX285 is the closest single gpu card comparable to the 5850 (5850 is a little bit better). GTX295 is better but very expensive. Or you could wait for the GTX300's to come out hopefully by the end of the month but who really knows.

ok, one last question about the 5850. what if i was running 2xGeForce 9800 in SLI (each 1gig). would the 5850 still be faster?

A bit tough but looking at different benchmarks I would say the 5850 would be better.

Not to mention the fact that a single card solution is always better than 2 with less heat and a few other issues.
