Default What about x2?

I believe Athlon 64 X2 (at least 3800) will be a bigger boost than a 6800 GS..you can get a 3800 for 322 or so and then drop to something like a 6600 or X700 to save the 100 dollar difference... IMHO.

Personally I am leaning toward something like the HP A1250N for 850 / 900.
Athlon 64x2 3800+
1 GB DDR PC3200
250 GB SATA
DVD-RW Multi Light Scribe
CD-RW

Unfortunately it's ATI X200 integrated, BUT has an OPEN PCI-Ex16 slot. If you want something like a 6800 you would need a bigger P/S but hey you are already paying 200+ for the card anyway so what's another 50??? LOL.

All that for 859 after rebates....the closest home build I can figure is around 950-1000. Of course it would have better video.

I bought the HP A1250N for Christmas...who could resist dual-core greatness for 900 bucks? Yeah it is integrated graphics and video, but upgrading those still doesnt add much money...I love opening Task Manager and seeing two CPU graphs...and that HP VS17 Flat LCD I got for 100 more bundled was just as great a deal!

Hmm I'd say get this mouse if you're getting one around 20$

I have one and love it, just a bit small though.

And if you're up for it, a much better monitor is only about 50$ more,

Also, if you ever get interested in buying a better keyboard, this one is about 50$ and is worth getting
