New Soundcard

My friend needs a new soundcard, what information should I ask him to copy of his System Information in order to find a compatible one? Thanks, Ivan.

His motherboard, PCI/PCI Express slots. What kind of speaker set up does he have...
eg. 5.1, 7.1 speaker.

its inexpensive but effecient and i personally have used it before and it works great.
