I've been browsing around for a decent RAID/SATA controller card. All 6 of my SATA slots on my MoBo are filled. Slaymate told me in a previous thread that RAID and SATA cards are basically one in the same, at least that is how I interpreted it. I am not looking to RAID with this one. I simply want extra SATA slots to accommodate extra drives (Between 2 & 4).

I'm looking to spend about $20 give or take, nothing fancy, but not junk. Any ideas? Newegg appears to be out of the SATA3 PCI-E cards...

Thanks.

I've used the Syba brands in the past. But that should work as fine. All controllers of late are basically the same quality, IMO.

How is compatibility with Win 7 64bit? Are SATA controllers plug and play (auto detect)? Or will I need software in order to use it? My RAID controller is a pain in the butt with that stuff.
