New Motherboard and CPU

I'm getting a new motherboard and processor.... just wondering if I have to reinstall windows 7 64bit or if I could just replace the hardware and boot up and update the drivers?

You will have to reinstall. If you have a retail license you can reuse it but if you have an OEM you'll have to buy a new one.

I have read around and some say that with older versions of windows they had to reinstall but I have see some cases where with windows 7 they didn't have to reinstall. Also I have seen too that as long as the northbridge is the same like moving from nvidia to nvidia like I am then you'll be ok.

Well if anyone can offer anything else that would be great... just don't want to spend the money on new parts if it is going to be much trouble to do the upgrade

XP allowed you to do a repair, but not Vista or 7. It may be trouble, but if you plan ahead it isn't too bad.
