I am trying to make a descent gaming machine. This is my first build and I just need some advice on these products. I don't plan on overclocking anytime soon, but would these be good to overclock. Does anyone have experience with this motherboard? It has a lot of features and it is fairly inexpensive. Any advice would be great.

Sorry forgot the parrts. LOL. Here they are:

Will I need a floppy drive for the drivers? And would I notice a big difference with this CPU compared to a Venice 3200? Thanks for the help.

You need to give us more info.... You asked for our thoughts on a motherboard, but no link, no model #....

Do you have components in mind?
What is your budget?

Yeah I forgot them but now they are up. Sorry about that. I got a little anxious. Budget is around 550-600

Lol... anyways. I checked them out... It looks pretty good. I don't have any experience with that Motherboard or PSU though. Might want to see what kind of feedback others give on it. Good build so far.

I guess you would be using the onboard sound, but what video card would you use?

One thing I noticed about the motherboard is that the description says it will be AM2 capable.... I find this hard to believe, since it isn't yet known if the AM2 will be strictly DDR2 or have support for DDR and DDR2......

I have an older PCI video card that I am going to try out untill I get some more money. Will PCI video cards work with this MOBO? So is this MOBO to good to be true or what? Everything has good reviews.

And what about the Venice 3200 or 3500 compared to this San Diego. How big of a difference will I notice if I wanted to save a little money?

I can't say for sure how much of a difference you would notice. With my 3500+ Venice, I can play WoW, RCT3, BF2, CS:S ALL at max resolution, settings MAXED OUT.

Lowest framerates I see are in the high 50's. BUT, with a PCI video card, you will be VERY limited. Yes, a PCI video card will work, but if you plan on playing any games, you will want to upgrade and go PCI express.

Right now, you are sitting at $556.... You won't be able to find a PCI Express card that you are happy with in your pricerange.... If you have a PCI video card now, I would go with what you have, and save up for a PCI express card. maybe a 6600 or 6800.
