new build issue

I purchased a computer from cyberpower to use as a starting point since im new to this. i used alienware until dell got them. im getting ready to put in a crossfire setup however my temps in my computer have gone up. my cpu was idleing uner 40 now its idleing around 49-53 at times. making me nervous. i am getting a new psu and 4 more fans to take on the extra heat when i put in the second gpu (radeon hd 6870x2 crossfire). i just dont want to put in the gpu and my processor go crazy. im using a coolermast air cpu cooler system. It worked fine until the other night i had crysis 2 running. Obviously the temps went up but when i closed everythijg out i saw my temps didnt drop passed 54. I use speed fan. Asus motherboard, amd phenom II. Help

Have you tried cleaning the heatsink and re-applying the thermal paste?

No i havent. The computer is only a month old but with cyberpowers reputation i prolly should do a rebuild over the cpu. Ill pull it apart give it a good cleaning and apply some new compound and see if that works
