Yes, definite overkill.

One 460 will be plenty for what you want. 12GB is a nit much, but it is up to you.

Don't get a VelociRaptor as it is a waste of money. Grab two of these 64MB cache WD Black's and put them in a RAID0 if you want super fast, other wise just use one for the OS drive. - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6402AAEX 640GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

The Big Bang is a nice board, but more then you will ever use. Look at the Sabertooth instead. - ASUS Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Antec 300 Illusion / Antec EarthWatts EA650 650W / EVGA GTX 760 2GB
AMD FX 8320 x8 Black Edition / Gelid Tranquillo / MSI 970A-G43
Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB / Samsung 840 120GB / WD Black 750GB / WD Green 1TB / WD Red 3TB
G.SKILL Ripjaws 2x2GB DDR3 1600 - Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2x2GB DDR3 1600
Win7 Ult 64-bit - Func MS3 Mouse - CM Storm QuickFire Rapid Mech Keyboard

The OCZ Onyx 2 ssd that has been announced seems like it will offer great performance for a price better than most ssd's.

Might be worth a look.
