im building a computer my price range is $500-600 in your opinions what are the best parts EXCLUDING the OS thanks for the help

Drenfest will not be gaming, it will be facebook and general web surfing. He is looking for the fastest build for that money. Monitor, keyboard, mouse doesn't need to be included. He has the OS. One cd\dvd burner is fine. no ssd. hdd is fine. case can't be reused, needs new case, psu, mb, ram, hdd, cd\dvd if no on-board video then gpu.
Really you don't even need a new pc then, you'll be able to pick up something pretty cheap of ebay or craigslist.
tbh, even a Pentium 4 will work fine for you. Lots of people sell of their old systems for cheap when they upgrade to the newest, fanciest system they can get.
