What will you be using this computer for? Gaming? Just general document editing and internet access?

Also, would you like a monitor included in this build?

Drenfest will not be gaming, it will be facebook and general web surfing. He is looking for the fastest build for that money. Monitor, keyboard, mouse doesn't need to be included. He has the OS. One cd\dvd burner is fine. no ssd. hdd is fine. case can't be reused, needs new case, psu, mb, ram, hdd, cd\dvd if no on-board video then gpu.

Really you don't even need a new pc then, you'll be able to pick up something pretty cheap of ebay or craigslist.

tbh, even a Pentium 4 will work fine for you. Lots of people sell of their old systems for cheap when they upgrade to the newest, fanciest system they can get.

You can get a pretty nice build for that price, here's a suggestion.

Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!
Newegg.com - A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model AX3U1600GB2G9-AG - Desktop Memory
Newegg.com - BFG Tech GS-550 550W ATX12V V2.2 / EPS12V V2.8 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Power Supply - Power Supplies
Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Newegg.com - Antec Two Hundred Black ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases
Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-R455D3-512I Radeon HD 4550 512MB 64-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards

total: $513.89 -$30MIR + shipping

If you want you could reduce the price quite a bit if you wanted something less powerful, which would still suit your needs. But since you put out that budget, i thought i'd show you what your money could get you.

edit: oops i forgot to add a DVD drive, here's one with free shipping:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827118030

oh yea, and there's also free shipping on the HD.

new total: $539.88
