hey im starting a new build projects and have come up with this

Processor ~
Intel CPU Pentium 4 650 3.4GHz 800FSB LGA775 CPU EM64T 2MB Cache Retail inc.Fan [£90]

sorry forgot to mention

general usage, word processing etc, internet browsing, music and light gaming

thats the thing im open to suggestion, id *like* to keep it within 500 but if i need to strech or even if i can save i will, which is best value rather than performance.

but the key thing is i need MAX upgradability

im looking to get the core 2 duo after a while but i wanna get this up and running first =]

also... RAM is a 1GB stick so you can upgrade later on when you have the money. the floppy is for upgrading the bios. I have a similar board and they still use the floppy to update the bios.

and one last thing, will i be able to use this with a hardware with a core 2 duo processor?

oh and i would prefer my original case

just for visual purposes =P will everything else fit in?

they're all great

BUT i didnt notice a graphixs card or is that just me and i think im going to change the case to the one i wanted =P

and hence change the colour of the optical device and the floppy drive =]

how would i get all my old music, bout 10gb onto my new HDD?

il have two seprate computers

could i LAN it and copy?
