I was planning on getting an AMD P2 x4, turns out I may have some bonus cash coming in so will likely switch to a i5 2500k. Either way, I am planning on waiting for Bulldozer to drop just so I can see what it does to other CPU prices and how they compare in benchmarks to the 2500k.
Question is, whats the "best" socket type and chipset for Intel?
I will not be using integrated graphics, and plan on doing some minor overclocking (around 4GHz).
The majority of people seem to use 1155 sockets and P67 chipsets. From what I understand none of Intel's chipsets are going to be forward compatible for Ivy Bridge (confirm/deny?), so is this the preferred combo to go with?
