BTW does anyone know if they would possibly downclock to a ddr2533 speed or is that just a myth?

Yes, ram can downclock.

u can downclock it.. or if u already have a ddr2533 stick with it and u throw in that ddr2 800 stick.. then its gonna downclock the ddr2 800 stick automatically
