Question Need opinions on my 9th build.

Hi, I'm highly considering getting this CPU mobo combo but I need to know if you all think this is a good deal. I can't afford a intel core 2 duo right now its way way out of my price range..... my limit is at $130-$150 I don't need a extremely fast CPU or duo core I just need a good pc that can handle todays software.

Here is the current list

wow every penny does count... I suggest get something more future proof like this:

Memory:Newegg.com - WINTEC AMPX 512MB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Desktop Memory - Retail
Stocker cooler will do fine.
Mobo: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA69VM-S2 Socket AM2 AMD 690V Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail
CPU: Dual-Core Power (Recommended) Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Brisbane 1.9GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor - Retail
Sempron l33tness:
Newegg.com - AMD Sempron 64 3000+ Manila 1.6GHz 256KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor - Retail

Are you planning to overclock?? If every penny does count then you will be better off using the money toward a more futureproof system. The stock cooling will do fine even for small overclocks.

Newegg.com - JetWay 945GZDMS LGA 775 Intel 945GZ Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Newegg.com - Intel Celeron 420 Conroe-L 1.6GHz 512KB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
Newegg.com - WINTEC AMPO 512MB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Desktop Memory - Retail

Note: Celeron 420 1.6GHz is based on Core architecture, so it is faster than sempron 1.6GHz

Note2: The motherboard have onboard Video card

This would cost $110, but you need to add a case, hard drive and cd-rom as well.

Post Re: Need opinions on my 9th build.

Actually I don't plan on overclocking at all

I was going to get this Pentium D and pcchips mobo combo for 98.00

Newegg.com - Intel Pentium D 805 Smithfield 2.66GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - OEM

If you look on this page I will getting combo #3

Newegg.com - Buy Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!

Ram I know its a little low but I'll upgrade that towards the end of summer
Newegg.com - CORSAIR ValueSelect 256MB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200) Desktop Memory - Retail

The heat sink fan is undecided right now but this is something that I'm looking at

Newegg.com - Spire SP513S6 90mm Sleeve CPU Cooler - Retail

Also a Friend of mine will give me a 430 watt power supply not unless the PS that came with my new gateway case will do the ATX power connector is a little bit longer then standard atx connectors which has me worried.....

Also I'm going work in about 10 minutes when I get there my supervisor is going to give me a black dell 17 CRT monitor its brand new it was donated to them about 4 days ago.

so all 4 parts will equal up to $130 tops.

Also the first choice I had that motherboard is way to big my gateway case plus it doesn't have onboard video which is a no go.......
