Need a new heat sink

I built this pc a few months ago using spares from my friend's old pc (including the CPU and heat sink) and a few new parts.

The heat sink seems to be dying on me. It's making loud humming noises and earlier the whole system crashed, probably due to overheating. Looks like it's time to buy a new heat sink.

I haven't replaced my heat sink before so I'm not sure exactly what specs I need to match it up with. The current one I have doesn't have a brand name or model name on it. I currently have an AMD Athlon XP 2200 1.79GHz processor.

Can anyone help me find a new heatsink, or tell me what I should be looking for to make sure it's compatible with my system?

Get the heatsink in my sig, it's under 50 dollars, and you can probably overclock that cpu afterwards.

it wouldnt really require vey much, dont spend above 40 bux if u arent gonna overclock

the best athlon xp heatsink ever created (air cooling) are made by Thermalright: http://www.thermalright.com/product_default.htm

However this is probably overkill unless you are planning to overclock.
