Default Need Input On Build

I recently burned out the graphic card in my laptop, so I decided to invest in a desktop, however, upon doing research I can to the conclusion I'd be better off building a new gaming desktop oppose to simply buying one. I plan to use the desktop for gaming, school work, light video editing and watching videos. So far this is what I plan to buy for the build:

Case: Cooler Master Cooler Master Elite 430 Mid Tower ATX Case with Window (RC-430-KWN1) - $49.99 on Amazon
CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor - $199.99 on Newegg
CPUCooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 120mm Sleeve CPU Cooler - $25.99 on Amazon
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel w/ mSATA Slot GA-Z68XP-UD3 - $129.99 on Amazon
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Blu 8GB (2X4GB) PC3-12800 1600mHz DDR3 240-Pin SDRAM Dual Channel Memory Kit - $44.99 on Amazon
GraphicCard: GIGABYTE ATI Radeon HD6850 1GB DDR5 2DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card GV-R685OC-1GD - $149.99 on Amazon
Storage: OCZ Technology 60GB Vertex Plus Optimized Edition SATA II 2.5" SSD - $71.40 on Amazon
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s with NCQ 16MB Cache 3.5" Internal Bare Drive - $80.99 on Amazon
PowerSupply: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply - $85 on Amazon
CD/DVD: Lite-On LightScribe 24X SATA DVD+/-RW Dual Layer Drive - $29.27 on Amazon
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - $99.99 on Newegg

Alternatives I've considered are:
GraphicCard: Evga GeForce GT 430 1024 MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 DVI/HDMI/VGA Graphics Card - $69.99 on Amazon
RAM: PNY XLR8 8GB (2x4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) - $33.99 on Newegg

So what do you think? Of course, if you have any other suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Originally, I wanted to keep my build between $600-$700 maybe less...but tentatively the prices above are what I found...some have rebates available. I'm also searching for price drops, other purchasing sites and watching bids on eBay. My hopes is to complete this build before the new year allowing for time to take advantage of holiday sales. So any and all inputs on this build would be greatly appreciated.
