Trotter your response gave me more confidence in upgrading the graphics card without the changed of power supply. I actually wonder what would happened if after insering the agp card into the slot and there is not enough power. Are there any risk of damaging any components?

Some, but it is small. You would get graphic artifacts and possible reboots.

Sigh after doing some extensive research, the voltage keyed is holding me back from buying the Sapphire 9550SE 8x and 4x AGP 128mb vga card.

This is how it went:
I just phoned a local retailer about the card I am buying and questioned them about the card's compatiblity with my motherboard. Apparently they have completely no idea about whether the vga card being an AGP2.0 or AGP3.0 compliant vga card.
I spoke to them that my motherboard is an AGP2.0 and whether does it supports the vga I am buying. They responded that if my motherboard supports 4x it is not compatible with the vga card they are selling as it supports 8x instead.
I somehow induced that sometimes retailers does not know their stuffs so hereby wanting your take on it.

Basically my motherboard is a AGP2.0 and supports max up to AGP 4x.
After doing some research on AGP compatibility for sticklers

found out that the AGP3.0 runs at 4x and 8x on 0.8V although they may fit into a AGP2.0 1.5V slot they may not run.
Now I really require help in verifying if the Sapphire 9550SE is a AGP2.0 or 3.0 vga card. The website did not show this information can anyone help?

Not sure if the next link relates to the above but the strange thing is that the following link that I am showing you does not shows 8X.

Besides that, there is one which came with a fan and one without am I right?

I supposed the retailer is selling the non fan version? It is priced at $27.

Many thanks in advance.
