I want to make the best gaming machine possible with a budget of 500-700 dollars. I was originally thinking about getting a Compaq or something, and just switching the RAM I have now with the one in the machine, then upgrading the Video Card and possibly PSU. But I want to see what other options I have.
RAM I have now
Card I have now (Want upgraded, but not necessary)
Mobo (This board if I don't get a new card)

What parts are you looking to buy?

Power Supply?
Processor?
Hard Drive(s)?
Optical Drives?
Video Card? I think you need a new one.
Case?

Memory should be fine (Could always add more at a later time)

Or are you starting from scratch?

PS-Don't get a Compaq, please:rolleyes:

The reason I was looking at the Compaq was because of the processor, and the price. The video card is doing ok, I think, but I need a new one. Other than that, I need a whole computer, minus the RAM (and possibly the card, if there is extra budget).

Build your own custom computer! I have built many custom (gamers) and this is the only way to go for a true gamer. Dont be blinded by what the industry provides, because ultimately its not what your looking for. Bigbaddog is right dont buy a compaq, you will regret it for what you want it for. try monarchcomputers.com ive seen custom base stations for good prices there. Thats a start good luck to you!!!
