Need help on my friends laptop.

Ok my friend has an IBM Thinkpad 600E wiht a 500 mhz p2 and like 256 ram. It used to be mine, but i gave it to him. I used it for internet and chatting it was pretty fast for just that stuff. Well nwo he wants to put all his music on it. He wants a 60 gig Hard drive. I built my 2 pc's, but never worked with laptops. Can anyone tell me if this hard drive is compatible with his laptop. Right now his laptop has a 12 gig hard drive. Here's the hard drive:
