Need help with HD

I just bought a new computer and now i need some help connecting it to my hdtv and my monitor. the problem is setting it with two different resoulitons the hdtv is wide and the monitor isnt i want the same pic and not two seperate screens any help would be great thanks

Hmmm... how about a KVM switch, but only use the monitor part?
