Default Need help with first build

Hey all, I'm having a little trouble here and would like some help. The problem is, I don't know how big of a power supply I am going to need for my build. I read somewhere that too much power could fry your system and too little can cause other problems. I have used a couple of online calculators but i'm not sure if they are right. Here is my component list:

Video: EVGA 320-P2-N811-AR GeForce 8800GTS 320MB 320-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP

Motherboard: EVGA 122-CK-NF68-AR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard

Memory: CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) Dual Channel (edit: supposed to be DDR2 800)

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775

Hard Drive: Undecided

Also probably running 2-3 120mm fans, dvd drive, dvd/r drive...basics

I have found a great case that comes with a 700W power supply and was wanting some professional or "professional" opinions on whether or not this would suit me or if it would be overkill and i could go with a 550W or something...anyway. Thanks for helping folks

Welcome to TF!

700W is too much power for your system. I recommend this power has enough power and plenty of amps, for your system:

You should drop that motherboard, because it's features are not really necessary, and get 2GB of DDR2-800 ram. For the motherboard, I would get this:

Heres a suggestion for the hard drive:
