Default Need help big time....

Okay so Im wanting to get a new motherboard so i can get some pci-e slots. My friend told me that it has to support my processor. How can I find out if it can support my proccessor? I have a intel celeron d 2.66ghz. Im also wanting to buy a 6800GS video card afterwards. So if you can help me then please help me! He also mentiond something about a socket. I dont know what he meant by that.

Socket T (LGA 775) you can go to http://www.newegg.com/ProductSort/Su...ubCategory=280
and do a mother board search to meet your specs. I saw about 40 or so.

yes, the celeron D is LGA775. if your motheboard has AGP i would suggest just getting an AGP 6800gs.

Will a full size ATX board fit in your case ?
What are the specs of your current system ?
Will the PSU work with the new mobo ?

PSU= Power Supply

What kind of RAM do you have? DDR or DDR2?
What kind of Hdd are you using? IDE or SATA?
What is the mobo you are using ATM?

Use Cpu-z to determine the socket of your celeron D because it seems that there are 2 differerent ones.
