Default Buying a new computer...

I am looking to buy a computer that is fast and of good quality and I need help if you could sort of point me in the right direction. I am not looking to have any games on it or anything like that as all i use the computer for is research and write paper for school. I also would like to buy the computer in person so that would eliminate dell.com. Any help would be appreciated...

eMachines T6534
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/eMach...oductDetail.do

This is at Circuit City. best Buy says it is sold out of them right now.

Since I don't know your location, I can't be more specific. But eMachine's are decent pre-builts... just not sexy.

This model comes with a good processor, 512MB of RAM (never go any lower), a DVD burner, a 200 gig hard drive, and a PCI-E slot.

To make it a gaming machine, buy a couple of gig of RAM and a decent PCI-E graphics card.
