So my brother needs a computer. His laptop broke so he wants a desktop to replace it. He said he was thinking around $500 as a budget. Really basic just needs to run word and a browser no games or movies or anything like that. I've never built a computer but I'm sure I could do it, although I'll have to be careful not to make any mistakes. The only "special" thing needed is that it needs a wi-fi adapter.

He would probably prefer to get one from Dell or some company like that if the price difference and performance difference were minimal. I'm not really sure but I would assume a $500 pre-made computer would barely run at all if you can even get one. Thats not a lot for a computer.. right?

Actually, a $500 computer will run all that quite smoothly. Buying a Dell is also an excellent choice. You can probably even play some games on it.

Dell's always stealing my business v_v.

Anyway thanks. I suppose they sell so many computers that cheap parts like those cost them pretty much nothing. So he'll probably do that then if he does get a computer.

Normal normal normal... WOAH what is that processor doing in there?! Really I mean who on earth would need that for just for web surfing. I'll make sure to show him that. He might just go with Dell as its the "safe" brand and its pre-built.

edit: Ah it looks like I would still need an OS, CPU fan, and a graphics card. Still though, good deal.
