Default Need Advice

Right. I need a Laptop, that will be used predominantly for multimedia, 3d graphics (not much gaming) but for video and photo editing as well as for using Auto-cad and other 3d modelling software.

I’m looking for:

-A good size and sharp screen for viewing
-A Duo Core processor (fast and powerful)
-Weight is not much of an issue.
-To run Windows
-A Good Battery life, 4hrs +
-Do not mind if new or refurnished, so as long I get the best for value
-Need within a month!
-Price range, at maximum: £1000 (not inc. VAT)

P.S.

Are IPC laptops good and reliable?
I would want to store a lot of photos, 3d model and music, is it worth buying an external memory drive instead of buying a laptop with enough memory built in?

Thanks!
