Hey guys! I've decided to build my first computer and was wondering if these parts are 100% compatible and if they are good enough. I have around a $1500 budget. My parts are:
Cooler Master HAF 932 Full Tower
Cooler Master Silent Pro 700W PSU
Asus P6X56D-E
Intel Core i7-940 Bloomfield
G.SKIL Ripjaw Series 8GB DDR3 Ram
XFX HD Radeon 6950 2GB GPU
HITACHI DESKSTAR 1TB HDD
ASUS DRW-24B1S Burner
LG W2040 20" Moniter

Welcome to the forum.... can you link the ram and mobo?

I hink you've miss typed the mobo, and x58 chipsets are usually tripled channel ram, so in groups of 3... So 8 gigs won't be as fast.

Btw for 1500 you should look at the 1155 sandy bridge chips.. it'll smoke an x58 chip all day long.

problem with SB at the moment is good mobo's are hard to come by, which of course is only a problem if you're jonesing for a build right now. If you waited a month or so maybe less, they'll be coming out with the p67 rev2 boards, and the z67 boards (performance series i believe) are scheduled to be out too.

if you don't really feel like waiting those parts are compatible and you shouldn't have a problem with anything!

and welcome to tf!!!

Asus has their new P8P67 version 2 coming. I got an email from them yesterday saying they were starting to ship RMA replacement boards. Right now my RMA is being processed.
