But the game assigns the calculations in threads for each core so the C2D will be able to calculate the calculations faster upto the pinnacle point where the Quad beats it in multi threading capacity. The slower Quad may bottleneck the gfx performance causing the whole gaming experience to slow down anyway. In games like Total war and other RTS's which are cpu dependent then the Quad would be best however in FPS I would suspect a faster clocked C2D to better it.
