I had a 6800 (vanilla) and it played every game I had on high settings (HL2, BF2 and the others are sim racing games)


What is your budget for the whole system? as the AMD 64 3700 san diego will is the same price (in the UK) as the P4.

It is not very helpful when you give me a video card that is 100 dollars above the one I have listed. Obviously it would be better since it is 100 dollars more. Those cards arnt really comparible

The 6800gt has 16 pipelines, and gddr3 memory. The 6800 has 12 pipelines and DDR memory. The core speed on the 6800 is a little lower as well.

The 6800 is a great card though, with the pipelines being able to be unlocked, and overclocks nicely.

So back to my original question what else do I need besides optical drive. Such as cables.

ok 1 the 256MB of pcie16 6800 is like only 50 dollars less then the 6800GT ok

so get a 3200+ processor or 3000+ processor and get a 6800GT
