My first build, need advice

why are you getting an SLI asus board then...

get the DFI nF4 ultra-D (which is not SLI but has 2 pcie16 slots)
or
MSI K8N NEO4-F

get the MSI K8N NEO4-F fits your budget, and is a great "beginners/experts" board

dont get the aspire psu, get the ANTEC NEOPOWER 480W power supply

Thats pretty new, So i can't comment on it, however I have never reccomended an Aspire to anyone. Tell us how it prefroms.

I just fugured that if I was going to spend the money I should go with something better. My better being something that might cost more. I don't guess that is always the truth. You said to go with some OCZ ram, would this be good enough? I'm sorry for all the questions, back home I had a friend that stayed on top of everything and since I have moved away I don't talk to him anymore.

I was looking at the psu that you recommened. Is 480w enough for anything that I might add later?

yup 480W is more then enough. unless your goign to be using every single component in your psu at once on full power lol.

One more question, the video card you guys say to go with the 7800GT or GTX. On Newegg's site they have a couple of different brands, is one better than the other?
