Any pointers or ideas would be greatly appreciated... thanks

Hows your budget?

I'd suggest even a 2500k over the i7 1366 chips.... plus mobos are usually a bit cheaper.

You can't use that ram really, x58 chipsets are triple channel, so you'd want 3x2Gig for 6 gigs, which is more than enough.

The green drive is a storage drive... It shouldn't be used as the os drive.

I'd finally suggest a difgferent case.. Nice case, but its a bit dated... It has like 0 cable management...

Basically i've tosed all your ideas out........

Oh n as for budget i'm trying not to surpass 1200..but so far it im below that mark with these selections

Hehe. now not too bad.... HOWEVER now the ram doesn't for a p67 board ;) They use dual channel... So while your first set works, its only 1333. You'd be best to go with 1600 or more, and ensure its 1.5V like this maybe:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9

The 430 is a lower end card, so if you are gaming itsx not the greatest. Though you don't seem like you do much.

I'd grab this psu instead.... Great Amps and reliable, and 10 bucks less
Newegg.com - Antec TruePower New TP-650 650W Continuous Power ATX12V V2.3 / EPS12V V2.91 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC "compatible with Core i7/Core i5" Power Supply

Oh and don't forget the dvd drive.

You right about the gaming part..ill be sure to make the switches but i didn't forget about the dvd drives..thanks for all the help and insight
