Motherboard and Hard Drive Question

hello.

does anyone know if you can attach a 250 Gig HD to a MSI 845E Max Mainboard. i've been trying find that out everywhere. i have my original BIOS version and don't know how to upgrade it to v6.1. Anyone know about any of these plz help!

EDIT: or maybe the 250GB is to much. let me do some more resaearch
