Default Monitor Advice

I am a fps gamer and currently have a 21" viewsonic crt(forgot the model and im not at home). Anyways, I was looking to upgrade my monitor and was wondering if I should upgrade to a lcd. I am well aware that crt's are good for gaming; however there is a very limited selection for crt's as they are becoming extinct.

To sum it up, I was just wondering your input on LCD, for gaming, and which LCD company and model is great for the money.

Thanks

A good LCD will suit you just fine. I prefer Samsung... I've also heard good things about ViewSonic. I've seen Sceptre's recommended around here a couple times, so maybe they're decent too.

Two big things to look for are response time and contrast ratio.

I agree Samsung makes great monitors. I have also heard good things about LG.

The Samsung 226BW 22" is probably the best 22" monitor around. Depending on your budget, you can go for a 24", or get a cheaper 22".

I got the exact same monitor, haven't had a problem with it, and its great for gaming and movie watching.

... unless you're giving her your old CRT, a new monitor is quite a gift...

This is true but i was talking about her giving me this monitor for x-mas, not me giving it to her. If she had it her way she would take away my comp.
