moderate gamer. please help!!!!!!

hi im getting into computer gaming, and i now realize that i do need to purchase a decent gaming card. here are my computer specs so far:

amd athlon 64 x2 dualcore processor 3800+
2 ghz, 1 gig of ram

i dont even know if i have a real gaming card. its included in the computer and doesnt even have a cooling fan. definetely not meant for gaming.

please recommend a decent, mid-price card that can play most higher end games on moderate to high settings, and also please tell me or inform me on anything wrong with what i have now or somethin i should add. sorry im a noob to all this. answers appreciated!

7600GT, 7800GS, or a 7900GS would be good choices, as would the X1800whatever, the X1900whatever. Your budget is basically the limit of what you will get.

What is your budget and what is your PSU? Amps on the 12's and total volts.

I want to go right ahead and suggest either... 7600GT, X1900GT, or 7900GS for a not too expensive card but will go places as well.
