agreed.. and if u wanna save even more.. u could get an e4300...

those e4400 beats the e6300 if both are at stock... and not using like a cache based benchmark.. and like all core 2 duo's... its an overclocking champ!!!

For the money, Do you think this AMD cpu beaths this core 2 duo? The thing is.. I'm running on a bit of a tight budget and every bit of savings I can find helps tremendously.

They're probably on par level, but the C2D will overclock higher. What you could do is get the X2 3600+, which is like $40 cheaper than the 4600+, and overclock it.

The thing is, I don't think i'd ever really need to overclock my rig. I don't plan on playing any games. Just mainly use it for multimedia/web browsing.

Oh ok....then still the X2 3600+ would do the job. And it's a lot cheaper. Multimedia and web browsing is nothing demanding, that pretty much any computer can do.
