will a ASUS A8N-SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard (mobo is a 64bit supported) go with a AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego 1GHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Processor ?? any help or tips would be much appreciated thanks:D

Is the CPU (whether it's single core or dual core) irrelivant to compatibility with the motherboard?

AKA, as long as it's s939, it'll work with the motherboard, whether its SC or DC?

Yes. Some boards may require a BIOS update to utilize the dual cores, though.

Really? That sounds like something that older s939 boards would encounter, before dual core was widely available. *shrugs*

Is there any way to tell if those motherboards are good to go with the dual core w/o any updates?

**I was helping the original poster over aim with this situation, hence the reason I'm asking questions as well**

Go to the manufacturer's web site and check out the ones you are looking at. It should tell you.
