Hello all, I am back again.
I recently bought another stick of 512 MB of RAM (PC2700, to be replaced with 2700). Plugged it in slot 1 in my motherboard, put my other 256 (PC2700) in slot 2. Turned the computer on, and the motherboard does not use my 256 stick. During the POST it only does a memory check of 524...... K of memory. Windows does not recongnize it either.
I know the RAM is in the slot correctly, as CPU-Z detects it. This is the RAM i was just using before. I've downclocked, I've clocked back up to regular speed, but nothing works. The motherboard will not read it. I have updated my motherboard to the latest BIOS and everything.
My motherboard is an ECS Elitegroup 741GX-M, socket 462, supporting 266/333 memory modules. What can I do to get this motherboard to detect memory in slot 2?
